I MISS YOUR RESTING BITCH FACE

“We are all sick of wearing masks,” says Angie Whitehurst, lingering a bit on the word sick. “Not being able to see people smile creates challenges too as a smile can tell us whether the person we are speaking with is connecting with what we are saying. I even miss seeing the faces of people I know who have resting bitch face!” While she agrees that masking has been critically important during the pandemic, Angie is against masking when it comes to topics like homelessness and affordable housing. “Sure, you can cover that shit up with talk of ending homelessness, but what we need are real solutions to a systemic problem.” As someone who dealt with her own housing instability for nearly 40 years, Angie gets fired up talking about the legal and cultural reforms we urgently need to address the issue.
