Marcellus Phillips (Washington, DC)

Regular price $6.00

This card was inspired by the late Marcellus Phillips of Washington, DC. He credited his grandmother for encouraging him to finish his high school education. "I didn't want her to die thinking none of us graduated. I wanted her to know that at least one of us walked across that stage. It wasn't easy, but when I put my mind to something, you ain't gonna stop me." That same determination helped Marcellus get back into stable housing after being homeless from 2015 to 2018. Sadly, he passed away in 2023.

15% of the sales from this card go to the Crawford Fund which helps our newest makers who have yet to create enough cards to generate sufficient income. Second Story Cards donates an additional 10% to The Epilepsy Foundation, an organization that Marcellus admired.
